Your independent hometown award-winning newspaper
I have known Eric Day for several years. He is humble and has a servant’s heart – working with young people, teaching cultural ways, helping to feed people in the community, standing and speaking for justice and serving as a senator of the Swinomish Tribe.
I support him for commissioner, Position 2, of Fire Protection District 13.
As a Swinomish Tribe senator, Eric has been part of the decision-making that has resulted in programs that are meeting the health care and housing needs of people – native and non-native – in our area. He helped the Tribe navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, expand didgwalic Wellness Center and expand home-ownership and home-rental opportunities on the Swinomish Reservation.
As a longtime building and facilities worker for the Swinomish Tribe, as a lifelong community member and volunteer and as a legislator, he knows that local people work hard for their dollars. He will work to ensure fire protection services are provided in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Serving in tribal government requires the ability to listen, to collaborate and to work across jurisdictional boundaries. Eric will bring that experience and perspective to the Fire Protection District.
I trust Eric to work with the other Fire District commissioners to ensure the department has what it needs so it can continue providing excellent fire protection services to a growing community.
Join me in supporting Eric Day for commissioner, Position 2, of Fire Protection District 13.
