Roast these with red potatoes on the side. Use a nice tangy strong cheese. You could roast a little longer if you like your bacon on the done side. With the potatoes, this became part of our meal rather than a dessert. Select firm pears.
Ingredients
Bosc Pears, 3, peeled and cut in half
Gouda cheese, 6 small slices
Thick bacon, 3 slices, cut in half
Red potatoes, two
Dried parsley, ¼ teaspoon
Cooking oil, 1 teaspoon
Preparation
Lightly oil the baking dish. Carefully core the pear halves. On each half of the peeled pears, place a thin slice of cheese. Wrap with the bacon. Place into a baking dish. Chop the potatoes and add around the edges. Sprinkle parsley on the potatoes. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. The first 30 minutes cover the baking dish.
