1:21 p.m.: Money scam – A citizen was contacted by phone and told they won Publishers Clearing House and to send a check to cover the taxes. The citizen recognized it as a phone scam and did not send money. Caledonia St., La Conner.
1:27 p.m.: Amazon scam – A citizen notified law inforcement of a scam call where the caller was pretending to be Amazon. This type of call has been reported in the past. The citizen was advised to block the phone number. Park St., La Conner.
Tuesday, June 14
11:03 a.m.: Credit card fraud – A citizen reported receiving a phone call from an agency claiming to be American Debt Cancel Company. The caller solicited the citizen for his credit card information and advised they could clear some of the money owed on those cards. The citizen recognized this as fraudulent and reported it to law enforcement. Rainier St., La Conner.
11:55 a.m.: Shop theft – A suspect identified as a male approximate age between 40 and 50, 5’9” tall, short dark hair, wearing a red sweatshirt and dark shorts took a wallet and purse from Two Moons Gallery. When the store owner contacted the suspect, he fled on foot. 1st St., La Conner.
12:30 p.m.: Vehicle prowl – A suspect entered a vehicle parked behind the senior center and took a down vest and T-Mobile cell phone. The suspect has not been identified. Commercial St., La Conner.
Wednesday, June 15
3:18 p.m.: Vehicle towed – A sedan left abandoned for several months at this location was removed by tow. Several attempts were made to contact the vehicle owner without success. Caledonia St., La Conner.
3:41 p.m.: Lost kayak – A kayak parked on a dock on the Skagit River came loose in high water and floated away. The owner was unable to locate it. Beaver Marsh Rd., Greater La Conner.
Thursday, June 16
5:06 p.m.: Suspicious – Caller reported two vehicles parked near the barn. There were two subjects sitting in the vehicles. It was unknown what they were doing. Fir Island Rd., Greater La Conner.
Friday, June 17
8:15 p.m.: Lost Uber – Unknown vehicle showed up. The driver said he worked for Uber and left the area. Caller reported they did not know the driver and he left the area. Law enforcement was not needed to respond. Calhoun Rd., Greater La Conner.
Saturday, June 18
9:12 p.m.: Man with blanket – A suspicious male was seen on the north basin side of the marina carrying a blanket. 2nd St., La Conner.
