Two handfuls of greater La Conner artists are featured at the Juried Fine Art Show at the Port of Anacortes transit shed during the Anacortes Arts Festival, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.Aug.3-4 and during Festival hours Aug. 5-7.
Over 120 works of a wide variety of fine art by 80 artists from as far away as Oregon and Montana are on display and for sale at the Juried Fine Art Show at the Port of Anacortes transit shed during the Anacortes Arts Festival, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug.3-4 and during Festival hours Aug. 5-7.
Juror Greg Robinson is this year’s juror. The Bainbridge Art Museum curator and former director of the Museum of Northwest Art chose from over 900 pieces submitted.
The greater La Conner artists include Craig Barber, photography; Peregrine O’Gormley, sculpture; Tracy Powell, sculpture; Marylyne Powell, photography; Ann Chadwick Reid, cut paper; Barbara Silverman Summers, painting; Roger Small, painting; Christine Wardenburg-Skinner, painter; and Stuart Welch, furniture.
Chadwick Reid and Anne Martin McCool, of Anacortes, each won the $1,000 Excellence Award, selected by Robinson. Barber was selected by the fine art team for the Matt Brown Memorial Award and $500. Sue Roberts, of Anacortes was selected by Robinson for Best of Show, $2,000. Nine artists were award winners, with $9,000 in prize money.
Kathy Ross and Judith Heim are the featured artists in the Allen Family Focus Gallery. Both work in multi-media, Ross creating sculptures and Heim a collage artist.
