Thanks for supporting Young Life programs

Letters

I would like to offer a huge thank you to the La Conner Swinomish Indian Community as well as the La Conner community at large for supporting the efforts of La Conner Young Life. Last week we had our annual fundraising dessert event and nearly 100 individuals attended. We had a fun evening of fun, games and sharing stories about the ways Young Life in La Conner has positively impacted both students and adults through the years.

The Swinomish Indian Tribal Community has been a loyal partner in this work for over 20 years and continues to support us through generous financial grants. In addition, they freely offer their transportation vehicles and staff to help us out if we find we are in need. Many individuals from the La Conner community and the school staff also generously donate their time, money and other resources to support the youth of La Conner.

The money and time given goes towards offering positive social gatherings each week locally and life-changing camp experiences each summer. We are especially encouraged that five of our camp counselors last summer were former students who now want to serve. We are honored to have the opportunity to give our youth positive relationships with caring adults and to be given a small chance to try and show them the unconditional love God has for them in this often challenging world. If you want to hear more please email us at [email protected].

With gratitude.
