Monday, January 8

8:04 a.m. Vehicle prowl – Caller’s car was entered and gone through at about 3 a.m. Caller had ring cam video, but it did not show enough to ID anyone involved. Vehicle was unlocked and nothing was taken. Park St., La Conner.

8:54 a.m. Vehicle prowl number two – Caller had two vehicles on his property prowled. The first had nothing missing and no damage. The second vehicle had an amplifier and sub-woofer taken. The caller had a camera, but the prowl happened just off screen and no subject information was obtained. Myrtle St., La Conner.

Tuesday, January 9

10:58 a.m. Tree down – A small tree had fallen and was partially blocking the road. A deputy was able to remove the tree and clear the road. McLean Rd., Greater La Conner.

1:14 p.m. Dog call – Caller was concerned about a dog be kept in a dog crate for 7 hours a day while the owner was at work. There is no law against crating and animal and the weather conditions were not dangerous for the dog. Second St., La Conner

1:30: p.m. Second tree down – Tree down blocking the road. Public works was advised to remove it. Best Rd., Greater La Conner.

Wednesday, January 10

8:24 p.m. Too good to be true – Caller was contacted on Facebook Messenger about a lottery winning and she needed to send money to have the check certified and delivered. Caller did not actually send money but did get far enough into the process to send copies of her ID and social security card. Caller was walked through fraud measures to take. This is an overseas scam and can’t be followed up on.Money is not free and too good to be true usually is. Second St., La Conner.

Thursday, January 11

6:14 a.m. Slipping and sliding – Driver was in a two-wheel drive truck and slid on ice. The truck left the road and rolled on its side in a ditch. No injuries or crimes. Fir Island Road, Greater La Conner.

12:08 p.m. Vehicle prowl number three – Vehicle prowl that occurred overnight. No damage to vehicle and only minor items missing. Fourth St., La Conner.

Friday, January 12

8:42 p.m. Under the influence – Caller called in a drunk driver who had just left the area and did this on a regular basis. A deputy was able to locate the vehicle and contact the driver near the La Conner schools. The driver was arrested and charged with DUI. Morris St., La Conner.

Saturday, January 13

5:19 a.m. Casino losses – Caller called in on behalf of a female who was reporting her car as stolen. This occurred at the casino and the victim had gotten a ride to La Conner. Swinomish PD was contacted and responded to handle the complaint. Morris St., La Conner.

5:36 a.m. Bad driver – Report of a vehicle with erratic lane travel. No deputy was available and the caller was no longer following. No further calls came in on the involved car. McLean Rd., Greater La Conner.
