Susan Jane Faller

Susan Faller passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, in Mount Vernon. She was born on Oct. 19, 1938, in Mount Vernon to Earl and Alice (Van Sickle) Moore. Susan graduated from Queen Anne High School in Seattle and continued her education at the University of Washington.

After she married Gerald Faller, the couple operated the Full Schooner Tavern and D&D Grocery until their retirement. Prior to her marriage to Gerald, she volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader and in the classroom at Washington Elementary School. Susan was a stay-at-home mother for 13 years and during this time was a foster parent to several babies awaiting adoption. She enjoyed crafting and sold many of her crafts through mail order and local gifts stores. During the Christmas holiday, she made wreathes for The Festival of Trees. She was a member of P.E.O., Salem Lutheran Church and Skagit Valley Hospital Guild. At Salem Lutheran Church she particularly enjoyed being a part of the quilt tying group and the Salem Visitors group.

Susan is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Matt) Thostenson and Julie Lennartz-Reppen; granddaughter Jasmine Reppen; brother Leon (Lynn) Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Faller and her parents Milo and Alice Moore.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Susan at Salem Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, and immediately following the service there will be a reception. Susan has been inurned at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Susan to Salem Lutheran Church, 2529 N. Laventure Road, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
