Voters in Skagit County and statewide in Washington chose President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump in the March 12 presidential primary. With all but some 1,000 votes counted Monday for Skagit County, Biden has 87.8% among five Democratic options and Trump won 76.4% among six choices for Republicans.
Democratic voters cast 6.9% for uncommitted delegates, a far larger percentage than either Marianne Williamson or Dean Phillips won.
Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley gained 19.6% ballots, the only Republican above 2%. All Republican candidates had suspended their campaigns before the March 12 election.
Through Monday, 139 more Democratic votes were cast, 50.2% against 49.8% Republican ballots.
Statewide, Biden has 83.5% of Democratic votes after Monday’s count at the Secretary of State’s website at 5 p.m.. Uncommitted delegate votes are second at 9.8%, again far outpacing Williamson and Phillips, who were almost tied at 2.8%.
Fifteen percent of the vote in a congressional district is needed to win a Democratic delegate.
Trump has 75.7% Republican votes statewide. Haley has 19.4%. No other Republican has more than 2.3%.
Statewide, 1.7 million votes were counted; Democrats turned in 53.8% of ballots and Republicans cast 46.2% of ballots. Almost 128,000 more Democrats voted. Statewide turnout will be below 34.5%.
In Skagit County, voter turnout will be about 38% of the 86,491 registered voters.
A ballot count was reported Tuesday after press deadlines. The County will certify its vote totals March 22.
Statewide primary totals will be certified March 29.
