Sunday, March 31

2:20 p.m.: Lookie loos? No – There was a report of vehicles blocking the road to look at flocks of geese. A deputy checked the area but did not locate any cars over the line or blocking. Fir Island Road, Conway.

Tuesday, April 2

7:55 a.m.: Off-road excursion – Report of a vehicle that left the road and drove into the bushes near the La Conner-Whitney Road Shell Station. No damage to the property, no sign of the vehicle. La Conner-Whitney Road, Mount Vernon.

5:01 p.m.: Mail theft – Reporting party mailed a check to a vendor in another state, but they never received it and it was cashed by a third party. The check was mailed locally but the theft and crime happened out of state. Reporting party was directed to the proper jurisdiction for the complaint. E Pearle Jensen Way, La Conner.

Wednesday, April 3

7:53 a.m.: Abandoned vehicle – Store owner wanted info on a vehicle that was left in the parking lot for an extended period of time. The vehicle was not reported stolen and the store stated they would have it removed if the owner did not return. Morris Street, La Conner.

Thursday, April 4

7:48 a.m.: Fake cop call – A reporting party was a victim of a phone scam where the caller claimed to be a member of the police and was asking for personal information. The reporting party did provide his banking info but was able to contact his bank and change it once he learned he had been duped. There was no chance for money to be taken. Summers Lane, Mount Vernon.

Friday, April 5

4:46 p.m.: Lockout assist – A reporting party needed help getting into a locked car. The keys and a child were inside. A deputy was able to get the door open. S. Second Street, La Conner.

6:25 p.m.: Arnold, go home – There was a report of a loose pig on Maple Avenue. This is a pet pig that lives on Caledonia and sometimes escapes. The pig was located and led home. Maple Avenue, La Conner.

8:01 p.m.: Theft in progress – A reporting party lost her wallet and was alerted that her credit cards were being used. A deputy tried multiple times to reach the victim but only received voicemail. Unknown where the cards were used or for how much. Morris Street, La Conner.

11:04 p.m.: You had a fast car – Multiple callers on McLean Road heard a car driving fast and then heard a wreck. They came out and found the car in a ditch on the side of the road. The driver fled the scene on foot. The car was impounded. The car was listed as sold but did not have a new owner. Deputies are still looking for the driver. McLean Road and Produce Lane, Mount Vernon.

Saturday, April 6

2:43 p.m.: NO PARKING means no parking – Traffic deputy cited vehicles for parking violations during the Tulip Festival. McLean and Bradshaw Roads, Mount Vernon.
