Sunday, June 30

11:28 p.m.: Dog bites dog – Caller reported that a neighbor’s dog attacked his dog and this led to an $1,800 bill at pet emergency. This is not the first time this dog has bit a person or animal and the case is being investigated by animal control. Young Road, greater La Conner.

Monday, July 1

10:55 a.m.: Here’s a story – Caller found a set of carpet installing tools hidden in the bushes and believed they may be stolen. A deputy collected the found items and saw it was labeled with a company name out of Kent. The items were collected for safe keeping and a message sent to the company. Morris Street, La Conner.

Tuesday, July 2

9:09 a.m.: Sheep crossing – Caller had a sheep pass away and wanted to know if the office picked up dead animals. She was advised to call a service or bury the sheep on her own property. Skagit City Road, Conway.

4:52 p.m.: Good launching site – Report of illegal fireworks being used in town. Unable to locate the subjects. Rainbow Bridge, La Conner.

Thursday, July 4

11:09 a.m.: Passed end of the road – A female was traveling at a high rate northbound on Channel Drive and did not seem to be aware that it’s a dead end. The driver ended up about 30 feet off the road and in a ditch. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and the car was towed. Channel Drive, La Conner.

Friday, July 5

1:03 p.m.: Dog alert – Several people concerned for a dog that was left in a vehicle and may be hot. A deputy checked the car and found the windows to be partially down and the dog seemed healthy and happy, no heavy breathing or panting. S. First Street, La Conner.

Saturday, July 6

10:34 p.m.: Dog gone – Caller called to report they had hit a dog with their car and the animal was deceased. The owner was not located and a call was put in for public works to remove the animal. Chilberg / Hulbert Roads, greater La Conner.
