9:57 p.m.: Shouldn’t be driving – Subject driving on Young Road lost control of his car and drove into the ditch. The wreck broke a waterline that was feeding the fields near the area. 5:54 a.m.: Them the brakes – A vehicle traveling on Alverson Road was approaching the stop sign for Chilberg Road when his brakes failed and would not allow him to come to a complete stop. He rolled through the intersection and struck the back of a truck traveling on Chilberg Road. The truck spun into a field and rolled onto its side. 10:09 a.m.: No government help – Caller asked about birds living in his chimney and wanted to know what animal control could do. He was advised that this was a homeowner issue and he would need to call a private service for assistance. Morris St., La Conner
10:27 a.m.: Not friend of library – The library is requesting extra patrols due to recent activity while the building is closed. They have had food and items thrown at the windows and doors but no damage has been caused. Morris St., La Conner

9:50 a.m.: Park and walk – A deputy working the chip seal area of Best Road stopped a vehicle for speeding and found the driver did not have a license, insurance, or the ignition interlock that was required. The driver was cited for criminal offenses and allowed to park his vehicle. Best / Young rds., greater La Conner
Saturday, August 3
5:45 p.m.: Didn’t miss a thing – A vehicle was east bound on Fir Island Road when it crossed into the oncoming lane and over to the north shoulder. The car hit multiple mailboxes and then over corrected back to the south where they hit a power pole and breaking it in half. The truck then rolled and stopped in a field.
