Sunday, August 4

6:50 p.m.: Overzealous humans – Report of a dog locked in a car on a warm day. A deputy responded and found the car had windows down and was parked in the shade. The dog was fine with no sign of distress. N 1st St, La Conner

Monday, August 5

11:05 a.m.: Make sure it is locked – Two vehicles were broken into sometime in the past few days. Caller thought both vehicles were locked but there was no sign of forced entry. Security cameras on the property were not working and there is no suspect information. Satterlee Rd, Anacortes

11:50 a.m.: Secure everything, everywhere – A theft of construction tools from a job site occurred sometime overnight. The tools were left in an unfinished building and were not secured. A deputy is investigating for any possible leads. Center St, La Conner

Tuesday, August 6

8:38 p.m.: Scary loud bang – Subject reported that he was parked under the twin bridges when another truck drove into the parking lot and fired a gun at him. Multiple deputies responded and found that the truck involved was still on scene after the victim had fled to call police. During a contact with the suspect vehicle, it was determined that they had thrown a firecracker out the window and did not even know the other truck was occupied. The was no shooting from either truck. SR 20, Twin Bridges

Friday, August 9

7:24 p.m.: Trifecta stop – Car stopped for speeding on Maple Ave that was going 52mph in the 25mph zone. The driver was cited for speeding, suspended driving, and no ignition interlock when required. Maple Ave. / Caledonia St., La Conner
