Humanities WA: Resisting Erasure Through Storytelling with Putsata Reang, 4-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, Museum of Northwest Art, 121 S. First St., La Conner. When Putsata Reang was 8 years old, she didn’t understand why her skin was brown when almost all of her classmates’ skin was white. So she put an eraser to her arm and began to rub, hoping to become white. A decade later, she realized that she is gay. Second Sunday Jazz: Marina Albero Trio, 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Anacortes Public Library, 1220 10th St. Barcelona-born pianist, composer, and educator Marina Albero is a captivating performer, deftly drawing on a lifetime of music tradition both on piano and psalterium, and has been the recipient of several awards. Albero’s playing is an absolute celebration of life, her spirited performances are intelligent, uplifting, and delightfully engrossing. Free, open to all.
Calling all artists and crafters. La Conner Kiwanis will host their annual Holiday Craft Show in conjunction with the Rotary Santa Breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 7, in Maple Hall.
