Library Happenings
November is the month to be thankful and the library has so much to be thankful for. First, we are so thankful for all our faithful patrons. It is such a joy to see each and every one of you in the library attending programs, checking out books, working on homework or just simply relaxing with a good friend or a good book. We are also thankful for the amazing support we continue to receive from our community who helped us build our beautiful new library and continues to support us through our fundraising efforts and donations. We are thankful for our partnership with the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, who support us both financially and by partnering with us on programming. We look forward to an even stronger partnership in the coming year.
Personally, I am very thankful for my amazing staff; without them this library would not be the special place it is. Thank you all for making everyone feel welcome and for keeping things running smoothly. Finally, we are thankful for our library and foundation boards for keeping the vision of this library alive.
We are also grateful for our events. The La Conner Library Foundation hosted another wonderful Tiny Trees event this year. We had a great evening of food, fun and tiny trees. Thank you to everyone who attended to make this night so special.
Coming up, on Dec. 9 from 6:30-7:30 p.m., we partner with Swinomish Indian Tribal Community to host a computer basics class. This class requires pre-registration so please call the library at 360-466-3352 to sign up. Computers are provided.
Dec. 10, we have an interactive ukulele concert from 1-2 p.m. This group is always fun, so make sure to put this concert on your calendar and bring you ukulele if you have one.
Kids, Santa is coming to visit the library on Dec. 10. He will arrive at 5:30 p.m. to read "The Night Before Christmas," take photos and to hear all of the special Christmas wishes. He will even have a special gift for each child who attends. Be sure to spread the word!
Lego Club will meet on Dec. 13 from 3-4 p.m. Come do a challenge build or just have fun creating with Legos.
Keep an eye on our website for even more fun events coming up.
