North Cascades Highway closed for season

State Route 20, the North Cascades Highway, has closed for the season due to adverse conditions and avalanche risk, Washington State Department of Transportation announced Nov. 18.

The highway is closed the 37 miles between Ross Dam trailhead (milepost 134) on the west side and Silver Star gate on the east side (milepost 171)
